ONE IDEA FOR YOU TO THINK ABOUT

If you’re like me, patience isn’t always easy. (Honestly, it’s one of the toughest traits I’m working on.)

Especially when it comes to big goals. I want results—FAST.

But here’s something I heard recently that changed my perspective:
Be patient with the big stuff, impatient with the small stuff.

For example:

↳ Big goals like career growth, finding a partner, or mastering a new skill? These require consistency, effort, and time.

↳ Small tasks like sending a follow-up email, setting a meeting or date, or practicing a skill? These need to happen faster.

The faster you act on the small things, the more momentum you build. And it’s that momentum that drives progress.

TWO QUESTIONS TO ASK YOURSELF

  1. What big goals in your life do you need to be more patient with?
  2. What small tasks are you procrastinating on that could build momentum toward those bigger goals?

ONE EXERCISE FOR YOU TO TRY THIS WEEK

This week, try balancing patience and urgency:

  1. Choose a big goal that you’ve been stressing about. Write it down. Next to it, note a small step you can take today to move towards that goal.
  2. Act on that small task immediately—without overthinking or aiming for perfection. Once it's done, reflect on how completing it brought you closer to the big picture.
  3. Practice patience by acknowledging that the big goal is a long game. Focus on the journey, not just the outcome.

Remember: Be patient with the big stuff, impatient with the small stuff. That's how real progress is made.
